Huge events in May! Get your spring party shoes on and plan on having fun all month long! The Motherlode is is host to the Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee, The AMGEN Tour of California and the Motherlode Roundup. All of these festivals have special pre-events planned and are featured daily under our SNO Top Picks Calendar listings! Two big street parties are planned for ATOC Eve, Tuesday, May 15th!
Historic Downtown Sonora will be hosting thousands of guests that will be in town for the great AMGEN Tour of California, Wednesday, May 16th! All the downtown restaurants, bars and saloons will be open and humming with business. Most will have special hours, promotions and specials to share with the public, the great hospitality of Tuolumne County, and celebrate Sonora's big moment in the limelight. There are several special events planned for downtown and the streets will be filled with tourists, bike enthusiasts and locals... all in the spirit of showing off Sonora!
4th Stage Street Dance - Gather, unwind, cut-a-rug, revel and enjoy! Historic Downtown comes alive for a unique event in Sonora History. Join us for a live street dance featuring the Good Luck Thrift Store, Descendents of Prospectors, Minor Birds and others... Sponsored by the Downtown Historic Merchants.
Coffill Park Block Party - Pre ATOC fun! Ride your bike down! Park it and dance to three of Sonora's great bands! The Sierra Mountain Band kicks off at 4:00PM with authentic cowboy and bluegrass, this is Americana Sonora style. You can catch David Rainwater and the band at Hurst Ranch BBQ every Friday starting in June for a great meal and great music under the stars! Motherlode favorites, The Hills Brothers Band, takes to rockin' the park at 5 PM with an eclectic mix of rock'n'roll classics, blues and originals. You can catch Hills Brothers at a variety of venues and dances throughout this area. At 6:30PM be sure to have your dancing shoes on when The BluesBox Bayou Band brings their power Cajun/zydeco sound for a rousing taste of the French Quarter, right here in Downtown Sonora! Black Oak Casino - Chains Required will be doing their horn driven style of rock at the Willow Creek Saloon for Black Oak's Pre-Bike Tour party and Casino Anniversary Celebration at 8PM!
