Magic is Happening in Sonora! Magic is happening in Sonora this month! We're looking forward to many great events happening in and around Tuolumne County that may be of interest to you!

On August 4th, Railtown 1897 presents the first SINGIN' RAILS, Railroad Music Festival! Music starts at 5PM, featuring legendary folk singer Mary McCaslin. Also appearing: Faux Renwash and the Sierra Mountain Band. Refreshments including Beer & Wine available. Bring a lawn Chair! More info and contact info on SNO.

This month, Sonora will be celebrating one of their most hallowed night out festivals, Magic of the Night, Friday,  August 10th! Don't miss this chance to meet up with all your friends and dance the night away.  This event is Free to the public and live music is everywhere!
Chains Required -  Court House Square.
The Blues Box Bayou Band - Coffill Park.
The Hills Brothers Band - Linoberg Street.
Mountain Mischief - will be entertaining all around the town.
Rockin' Rick & the Rhythm Wranglers - at the Volunteer Fire Museum.
You can also check out the Volunteer Fire Museum and see their Antique Fire Trucks that will be on display or just have a bit to eat. Eclectic Caravan Oracle ~ Tribal Fusion Belly Dancers. Elaborately Costumed, Beautifully adorned Dancers. Performing at Court House Square. The Burning Sky Musicians They perform and primarily feature: Tribal Rhythms, World Fusion and Traditional Middle Eastern Music. They work in tandem with Oracle to form Eclectic Caravan Belly Dance Troupe.
The Sonora Opera Hall will feature several entertainers including: Hard Luck Lin who will entertain folks of all ages with her old time games of chance, book signings or just spinning a tale or two. The Mother Lode Antique Car Club and the Model "A" Car Club will also be at Court House Square showing off their vintage classics. And look for all the HOT merchants specials for this night only!

Grand concerts at Ironstone Amphitheatre set a high bar for mega-name talent and this month the phenomenal John Fogerty makes an appearance in the Motherlode winery, Saturday, August 3rd. Heart - August 11th and and Tony Bennett - August 31 follow up with concerts through the month!

The BluesBox Bayou Band will begin their swing through the Motherlode with their kick off Concert in the Pines, Saturday August 4th, with followup shows in Sonora's Coffill Park, Friday Aug 10th, and the Columbia Street Dance on August 18th. This will be the biggest street dance ever! Then kick back on the Courthouse lawn August 24th for their live Courthouse Square concert for Sonora. Live community concerts continue throughout Tuolumne with Wednesdays in Tuolumne City, Friday nights at the Sonora Courthouse Park and Saturday Concert in the Pines, Twain Harte community.

On Saturday August 18th the Motherlode Fairgrounds will host a SAVE THE FAIR! event.  Help the fair survive another 75! All proceeds help the Motherlode Fair survive! Tri-Tip BBQ with all the fix-ins ($15 adults, $7 children). 4H & FFA Demonstrations, livestock equipment & feeds display. Kids activities, vendor fair, raffle prizes!! NO ADMISSION CHARGE! Hey, looking for a great hang out for Karaoke on a Thursday night? Check out the re-vitalized Kelly's Mountain House Restaurant and Tavern up HWY 108. The buildings been a Tuolumne icon for decades and John has done a great job bringing the place back to its old glory days! With displays of vintage ski equipment and memorabilia, you step back a little in time while enjoying the great food and company you'll find here.
